It is such a treat to have this coffee! While visiting Honduras this past April we were invited to share a meal at the home of renowned coffee producers Moises and Marysabel. They are known for repeatedly winning in the Cup of Excellence competitions in Honduras, It was like being invited to have dinner at a coffee superstar's house!
We shared stories of our lives and quickly felt aligned on so many levels including sustainability, quality, and faith. And in the end we were offered some of their amazing coffee, which we gladly purchased!
This first coffee of three different coffees from Moises and Marysabel is the SL28 variety that we typically see in Kenya. It is incredible how similar the taste is to a washed Kenyan coffee. Tons of black berry and currant with a beautiful acidity and body, and a thick honey sweetness. It's a light roast that is "big" flavor-wise.
