In the early 2000’s a coffee became legendary from a mill called Idido in Yirgacheffe: “Misty Valley”. At that time all quality coffees from Yirgacheffe were fully washed and natural processing yielded highly defected cups.

Enter a man named Abdullah Bagersh. He decided that he was going to try a different way of naturally processing that involved raised drying beds and constant movement of the coffee cherries while they were drying. The labor was intense and the idea risky but the cup was astounding! Misty Valley quickly became extremely coveted for its deep blueberry notes and delicate florality.

Today there are many mills in Yirgacheffe utilizing natural processing and getting great results but the Misty Valley still stands among the best.
