MEETING LISA AND LEO...
Five and a half years ago, Emily and I traveled to Indonesia to find great coffee. We were blessed to have Leo and Lisa as our guides. Leo grew up in Sumatra and moved to the United States where he met Lisa in Omaha, Nebraska. Lisa had extensive business background and Leo had coffee growing experience so they decided to move to Sumatra and start a coffee growing business. Their focus is on improving the lives of small farmers by helping them grow and process specialty grade coffee.
This coffee comes from a farmer collective they started called Huta Raja. It is naturally processed with an extended drying time of two months, (normal drying time is 30 days). I found that the extra long drying developed a ton of sweetness and beautiful juicy, soft fruit notes.
