Luis Alberto owns two farms that are divided by a river valley. On one side is Un Regalo de Dios and on the other side is Esperanza (named after Luis’s wife). Esperanza is planted mostly in the variety caturra and is in an ideal high-elevation setting for delicious coffee.

This coffee is naturally processed with the major goal being sweetness. Luis is a master of this, as we have seen in the past with his other coffees, and this coffee is no different. The acidity is medium, the body is silky, and the flavors are of apples and sweet citrus.

This is our 10th year buying this coffee and it amazes us how consistent the taste is. Usually, a farm's quality will go up and down somewhat over the years, but this coffee is always excellent. It is a testament to the mastery of farming and processing that Luis and his team possess.
